What's Going On At Unity?

2008 is going to be an new and exciting year for the Brothers of Unity Masonic Lodge.  We have many wonderful programs to support the community and our lodge in the next couple of months. 

 

Open Installation of Officers

 

This year the new Worshipful Master will be Darryl Bowser of Front Royal, Virginia.  Installation of Officers is open to the public, families of the Brothers, and of course any Master Mason.  The event will start at 2:00 PM and conclude around 4:00 PM.  A complete list of Officer for 2007 can be found on the Officers link on the left side of the website near the top.  Please come out and support the men who will lead Unity 146 Masonic Lodge is 2006.

Toys for Tots Program

 

Each year the Brothers of Unity Lodge raise money and gather toys for under privileged kids in our area.  The Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The idea came from Bill's wife, Diane. In the fall of 1947, Diane handcrafted a Raggedy Ann doll and asked Bill to deliver the doll to an organization, which would give it to a needy child at Christmas. When Bill determined that no agency existed, Diane told Bill that he should start one. He did. The 1947 pilot project was so successful that the Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots in 1948 and expanded it into a nationwide campaign. Video clip ...

 

In you are interested in making a donation to the Toys for Tots program then e-mail or call Art Hiserman and he will make sure your donations gets to the kids. 

 

Blood Drive

 

Unity Masonic Lodge will be hosting another blood drive this year for the American Red Cross.  Last year, Worshipful Neil Lilly, Sr. help Unity to receive the Levi Award from Grand Lodge for host this event.  There is no better way to help others then donating blood.  This project includes all of the Masonic families at Unity Masonic Lodge to include our own ladies of the Eastern Star, Sojourners, Royal Arch Masons, and the Blue Lodge - so please come out for this important cause.  Pictures ...

Eagle Scout Night

 

The Brothers of Unity 146 Masonic Lodge strongly believe and support the Boy Scouts of American.  Each year we give out our Virginia Masonic Award for those who have been awarded the honor of Eagle Scout.  The Scouts present American Flag program to the visitors.  Pictures ...
